My Acai Berry Story
I decided to try Acai Berry after realizing that I needed to lose some weight.
My weight problem was not exceptionally large. However, I still knew I was overweight.
After three kids and years of eating whatever the kids were eating, I finally concluded that I had a weight problem. Not a huge one – I was not obese – but a weight problem nonetheless.
Before the kids, I weighed a respectable 135 – not bad on my 5’9” frame. After the kids and all that ‘kid’ food I was pushing 175.
I figured I needed to lose at least 30 pounds to get back into my ‘fighting’ weight. While crash dieting used to work wonders for me, I knew that I needed a plan, a program, and an actual “diet.”
The more I looked into different diet plans and supplements, the more discouraged I became. Because I was still breast-feeding my youngest child, I discovered my options where limited.
I was not comfortable with many of the popular diet plans; I did not think I would get the proper nutrients for breast-feeding while following them.
Supplements scared me even more. I was terrified of taking a supplement that would pass through my milk and be harmful to the baby.
Thankfully, my research into the Pure Acai came in handy.
I learned that I could continue breast-feeding with no risk to the baby as long as I took a supplement that was 100% pure Acai Berry. In other words, I needed to find a product that contained no additives or fillers. It makes sense – there are not any Acai Berry side effects for me so there are none to pass onto the baby.
The Pure Acai Berry fit perfectly into my weight loss needs, but I discovered something interesting: how the fruit was picked and processed really makes a difference in the potency of the supplement. Sounds complicated right? Not really – the biggest problem is that the Acai Berry begins losing its potency immediately after picking. That makes getting ‘fresh’ berries impossible. Other methods like concentrates and extracts simply do not have the full ‘kick’ of the real berry.
There is one method that works: freeze-drying. If the fruit is picked and immediately freeze dried, nearly 100% of its nutritional value remains intact. I knew I had to find a product that used only freeze-dried berry.
